for Foot Pain
If you are suffering from plantar fasciitis we have a revolutionary yet simple solution to your discomfort: QuickTape. This thin, peel-and-stick foot tape is American-made out of hypoallergenic, latex-free adhesive fabric and will make it possible for you to resume activities you love without the excruciating heel and arch pain associated with plantar fasciitis.
What’s Behind Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis, also known as jogger’s heel, is a painful condition that affects approximately 30% of the population at one point in their lives. It is most often caused by an injury to the plantar fascia—the long band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot, which leads to irritation and inflammation. Symptoms usually begin gradually with intermittent heel pain that slowly gets more regular and swelling on the bottom of the heel. Some patients also experience pain in the arch of the foot. A telltale sign of plantar fasciitis is sharp, shooting pain with the first step out of bed in the morning. This is due to the plantar fascia contracting while you sleep. Further adding to the heel pain, many patients also develop a bone spur in the heel which can be felt through the skin. The pain may also worsen after standing for long periods or participating in certain sports or activities.
The root cause of plantar fasciitis is usually a faulty foot structure. People who have flat feet or overly high arches are more likely to develop plantar fasciitis and these structural issues can be genetic.
Other contributing factors to this condition include:
-Normal degeneration of tissue as part of the aging process
-Overuse through strenuous sports that feature pounding of the foot such as running or basketball
-Wearing shoes with little or no arch support
-Being Overweight
-Having a job that requires long hours standing on hard surfaces
Although the pain and discomfort associated with plantar fasciitis develop gradually, left untreated it can progress to the point where it is debilitating, making it difficult to exercise, play sports, walk, or even do normal daily activities.
Getting Relief with QuickTape
There are a wide variety of treatments that physicians may use to treat plantar fasciitis. Many of them, however, are time-consuming, painful, or include medications. QuickTape is drug-free, non-invasive, and simple! Here’s how it works:
The QuickTape Support Straps come in two sizes. Standard size straps fit women’s US size 4 to Men’s US size 11 or a foot circumference of 7.5” to 10”. Large size fits men’s US 12 and up or a circumference of 10” to 11.5”. (To be certain that you are ordering the correct size, please measure the circumference of your bare forefoot about 1” below where your ankle connects to the top of your foot.)
Easy-to-understand, step-by-step instructions come with your straps and show how to custom fit them to either foot in a way that will support the arch while keeping the ball of the foot and heel together during the actions required for walking, running, and jumping. The straps provide the necessary support to the foot which eases the tension on the plantar fascia and the arch of the foot, relieving pain instantly.
The QuickTape straps can be worn barefoot or with socks and pretty much any kind of footwear including sandals. You can also use QuickTape straps with foot braces or orthotics. They can even be worn in the shower or when swimming. These convenient and effective support straps make the tedious job of taping your foot no longer necessary. Each strap lasts for 3 to 7 days on average depending on usage, body type, and humidity. QuickTape support straps come in packages of 3, 10, or 15 pre-cut straps.
Who Else Benefits from QuickTape Support Straps?
People who suffer from plantar fasciitis will greatly benefit from QuickTape Support straps but they aren’t the only ones.
Relieving Other Foot Ailments
Chronic foot pain is a symptom of many podiatric disorders. So often, the root cause of the pain is improper alignment within the foot. QuickTape supporting straps can be used to relieve the discomfort of other foot problems as well, including Bunions, Flat Feet, and Foot Pronation.
Healthy Aging
It’s just a fact that over time as we age certain parts of our feet (and the rest of our body) begin to show signs of wear. In your feet, cartilage can decrease, and fat pads thin causing joint pain and loss of natural cushioning under the ball of foot and heel. The risk for certain health conditions such as arthritis and diabetes, which can harm your feet causing pain and discomfort, also increases.
QuickTape Support straps, properly aligned and secured in the correct position, can help keep your feet functioning as they should and compensate somewhat for some of the natural changes caused by aging. By relieving foot pain you may also notice an improvement in how your knees and back feel as well.
Upping Your Game
Sports and exercise play a big role in helping keep your body healthy and they’re fun! However, athletes are often vulnerable to overuse injuries and conditions such as Achilles Tendonitis, Heel Pain (from sources other than Plantar Fasciitis such as cysts or nerve damage), and, Shin Splints.
QuickTape support straps can reduce exercise-related discomfort and also help athletes with injury prevention to the feet especially when participating in activities such as marathons, sports, heavy lifting, or prolonged periods of standing.
FAQs about QuickTape Support Straps
Q: Can children wear Quick Tape Support Straps?
A: Yes they can. You will just have to trim down the standard-size straps to fit a smaller, child-size foot.
Q: Can I hurt my foot if I apply the support straps incorrectly?
A: It would be difficult to cause harm with the QuickTape support straps but if not applied correctly they may not be effective. Be sure to follow the simple instructions that come with your package or watch our instructional video. Remember, it’s important to rub the entire strap thoroughly after applying it in order to activate the adhesive.
Q: I’ve noticed that after wearing my support straps for a while it feels like it loosens up. Is it still working?
A: Yes! Your foot will adapt and realign to the new supported shape created by the tape. It will feel very comfortable but it is still working.
Q: Can I wear QuickTape Support Straps in a hot tub?
A: The straps are stable in hot tubs but we recommend against keeping them in the water for a long time. Eventually, the hot water will reduce the useful life of the strap and may even cause it to come off your foot before you’re ready to change it.
Q: How do I get the QuickTape Support Strap adhesive residue off the skin on my foot?
A: Start by slowly peeling off the tabs, keeping them as close to the skin as possible. A little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab should remove any remaining adhesive. If you still have residue you can soak your foot in warm water and gently rub the area with a pumice stone.
Q: Why are QuickTape Support Straps better than plain taping?
A: The support straps are easy to apply, unlike regular tape, bringing pain relief faster. To tape your foot the traditional way would require 10 or more pieces of different-width tape, scissors, and spray adhesive. It can take up to 20 minutes to tape your foot and it has to be done each day! QuickTape Support Straps take only a minute or less to apply and they last for 5-7 days. They are also more comfortable and durable than traditional tape.
